Ø  Pay attention to the published literary genre. Be wary of the publisher if he claims to accept manuscripts of any kind, from thriller to romance, from non-fiction to fiction for children, without having a precise editorial line. Especially small publishing houses only work well if they specialize in a certain genre and/or target audience.
