The
Press Information Bureau on May 25 2017, released two books at a high powered
function in the presence of the then president, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. The
books were Maan Ki Baat: A Social Revolution on Radio and Marching with a
Billion- Analysing Narendra Modi’s Government at Midterm.
While
the Mann ki Baat book is written by Rajesh Jain, a former aide to Prime
Minister Narendra Modi, the other book has been penned by journalist Uday
Mahurkar. The Maan Ki Baat book is described as an analysis of the Prime
Minister’s weekly radio show, “Maan ki Baat.”
The
Maan Ki Baat radio broadcast programme has been described as a reflection of
the strong passion for dialogue of Prime Minister. The preface to the book has
been written by the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The
Japanese prime minister said, “Talking on a one hour radio show once a month
while addressing challenging tasks as Prime Minister requires tremendous
efforts, I cannot but feel his strong passion for dialogue.”
The
Maan Ki Baat book marks the journey of the program which will be completed 3
years in october. The book will also go into analytics on what was followed up
in terms of feedback from listeners, and even has chapter on how the phrase
Mann Ki Baat has entered the political lexicon in order to mock Prime Minister
Modi.
The
Maan ki Baat radio broadcast was first done on vijaya Dashami in 2014 and since
the beginning there was curiosity about the origins of the program. People
often want to know the idea behind it along with the mind of the man behind the
inspiring voice of the Prime minister which reaches million of people every
month.
The
Maan ki Baat book recites the common thread of positivity and optimism that
Prime Minister Modi has woven through his Mann Ki Baat program. It also talks
about how this thread has been picked by common Indians who then converted it
into a mass movement.
The book also has some interesting anecdotes which have
been shared by the members of the Prime Minister’s core team and people from
MyGov and AIR regarding how the format was chalked, how the idea came and how
the frequency was decided among other things.
